I have been loving the mohawk trend lately and can’t seem to get enough of it. Today’s tutorial features a dutch braid into a little messy bun in a half up style. I also show you how to curl your hair with a curling wand to get big everyday curls. I recently received the Lustrum set from Nume and love all the different types of curls I can get from the five different wands in the set.

Mohawk Braid Top Knot
You will need:
- Comb
- StylingΒ clip
- Hair band
- Hair pins
- Elastic band
- Hot Tool ie. curling ironΒ (my fav), straightener, or curling wand (I am using the Nume Lustrum set)
Instructions:
- Step 1 / Begin by sectioning off the top section of hair. To do this, create two parts from the corners of the forehead back to the crown. Clip off the top section, then tie off the bottom section to keep it out of the way. Now let down the top section to do the braid.
- Step 2 / Create a dutch braid along the center of the top of the head. Watch this video for a quick review on how to dutch braid.
- Step 3 / When the braid reaches the back of the crown and all the hair is brought in, tie it into a messy bun. Here’s a tutorial for my favorite messy bunΒ or try the “Easiest Top Knot” tutorial.
- Step 4 / Once the bun is secure, then grab your favorite curling iron, straightener, or curling wand {I am using the Lustrum set from Nume} and add some waves to the rest of the hair.
- Step 5 / Finish with some hairspray and you are ready to go!
