Twisted Low Ponytail is a spin on the Sleek Low Pony.
I wanted to step outside the box and try something a little bit crazy. Low ponytails are so in right now and creating an alternative to the traditional look is right up my alley. Why not throw in some fun twists and loops, hiding the elastic band along the way. It’s different, it’s fun, why not?!
Here are the steps to completing the style:
Step 1 / Separate the hair from the temples toward the back of the head.
Step 2 / Divide the section into two halves.
Step 3 / Cross the left section over the right.
Step 4 / Place a pin in the right side to secure the hair.
Step 5 / Take a section of hair from the left side, right above the ear and twist it upwards towards the back of the head.
Step 6 / Then pin down the twist once it reaches the opposite side.
Step 7 / Now repeat steps 5 and 6 with the right side, placing it right underneath the first roll.
Step 8 / Next, take the sides and cross the left over the right.
Step 9 / Wrap the bottom piece that was left out around the top of the left strand.
Step 10 / Then wrap the middle piece over the right side.
Step 11 / Now divide the left strand in half and add it to the middle strand.
Step 12 / Grab an elastic band and wrap it over the left side strand.
Step 13 / Now take the wrapped strand, divide it in half, and pull each side in the opposite direction to tighten the band.
Step 14 / Pull on the sides to loosen them so they line up with the top portion.

Oh, wow! It looks so complicated, but I think I can actually do this. So glad I found your blog. I have long hair, but I’m clueless at styling it!
