Braid 18-Four Strand Half Updo is a level upgrade from this Four Strand Braid. I am not gonna lie, four strand braids are pretty darn tricky; especially on yourself.
This version of a four strand braid is a whole easier to master if you have a little time on your hands to practice a few times. Try it out, let me know what you think!
Don’t forget to tag @missysueblog or #20Braids on Instagram and Twitter if you recreate the style!
Please pin your favorite image too so your friends can be a part of this neat “20 Braids for Spring” series too; it’s almost over!
I will attempt to talk through the steps for this lovely process:
Step 1 / Taking a section of hair right at the hairline separate it into four strands.
Step 2 / Wrap the strand in your left hand under the strand next to it.
Step 3 / Now cross the strand over the next one.
Step 4 / Next, wrap the strand under the last one.
Step 5 / With the strand that crossed over in the last step, wrap it under the strand next to it – to the left.
Step 6 / Now cross the strand over the last strand.
Step 7 / With the strand that crossed under the last one, pull in a section of hair as you would a french or dutch braid.
Step 8 / Now repeat steps 3 through 7 until you reach the back of the crown.
Step 9 / Tie off the braid with a clear elastic band.
Step 10 / Gently loosen the braid to create a disheveled appearance.
Step 11 / Finish with hairspray and curling the ends of your hair.
Whew! There you have it. Luckily there’s a video so hopefully that’s a little bit easier to follow.
