Braid 11-Sideswept Waterfall Braid is the cool older sister of the Ultimate Waterfall Braid. Edgy, modern, chic; hands-down my new favorite braid.
The braid of all braids. Right? A waterfall braid?! These are cool.
I have to stop right here though because there is no video for this braid. I know! What was I thinking?! I was not obviously; how could I forget about a video for YOU guys! I WILL make a video for this hairstyle if you reeeeeeally want one. I think you do so I think I will.
Do you love it though? I think it is pretty darn rad. I had a completely different hairstyle in mind which I tried to do twice. It wouldn’t work out so I just started braiding away to see what would happen and this awesome-ness was made. It is definitely Waterfall Braid meets Sideswept Waves.
I will list the steps below though for any of you pro-braiders out there who see this and think “Psh, I totally got this!” You do got this and I want to see it so tag me on Instagram, Twitter, or Google+ when you post your pic!
Get your friends in on this action too and pin your favorite image! xo, M
Step 1 / Take a section of hair at the front of the head; a sort of triangle shape with your part.
Step 2 / Cross the left strand over the middle, then the right strand, then drop the strand in your left hand.
Step 3 / Pick up a section of hair right behind the strand you dropped.
Step 4 / Cross the strand you picked up over the middle strand.
Step 5 / Continue steps 2-4 of the waterfall braid pulling in hair from across the back of the head to bring into the braid.
Step 6 / When all the hair from the right side of the head is pulled in finish with a regular braid.
Step 7 / Tuck the braid underneath the hair and pin it in place.
Step 8 / Smooth down flyaways and curl the ends of your hair for the finished soft, sideswept look.
Love this!!?
Beautiful hair!
I have been trying to do the waterfall side braid and “around” the head but I think my hair is too fine and it’s so sad hahahah
Oh no, I am sorry ): I have fine hair too and it works a lot easier when it’s super dirty (:
Oh my goodness, imagine a waterfall braid around the head! I gotta try that, haha!
Oh my gosh! I love this! I thought a braid like this would seem complicated but now I want to try it!
