I am sure you have experienced those mornings when you are staring into the abyss that is your closet and not had a clue what to wear. This happens very often to me and too many times to count. It can frustrating and despairing all at the same time. Knowing a few key tricks to putting an outfit together, however, can take the edge off and make the process go smoother, saving lots of time in the morning.
Here are my three tips for assembling an ensemble:
1. Find Focus
Choose one piece as the standout item. Then keep everything else simple.
2. Finesse details
Consider the overall shape of the ensemble. Pairing a fitted top with a billowy skirt offsets the different sizes while tucking in a shirt can take an outfit from casual to smart.
3. Top it off
Accessories are the finishing touches on an outfit. Jewelry establishes a feeling of polish or a simple belt helps perfect the shape of the outfit.
