Top knots are a cute, modern hairstyle and perfect for getting hair up and out of the way. When two dutch braids are added up the back, the bun becomes different from every other top knot out there. Sarah has really long hair but this can be achieved with shorter hair and a sock bun. The braids begin at the nape of the neck and are braided in a diagonal pattern next to each other to the crown of the head. Next, all of the hair is pulled into a high ponytail and the hair is wrapped around the elastic and pinned against the head. An important step is tugging on the edges of the braids to hide the part that goes down the center of them. An alternative way to do this style would be with traditional french braids or with a zig zag part.
