Brigitte Bardot Mermaid Braid is a combination of the Brigitte Bardot Half Updo and the Half Up Mermaid Braid.
I love both those hairstyles so much and thought it would be such a neat idea to combine them together. Mermaid braids are so huge right now and totally blew me away the first time I saw one. I have definitely gone a little crazy throwing them into as many hairstyles as I possibly can.
If you love them as much as I do then you should try out this one because it is just as fun to wear, especially with a pretty red bow tied at the bottom!
Keep reading for the steps!
Step 1 / Begin by separating a portion of head at the back of the crown and gently back comb the hair underneath to create volume.
Step 2 / Take the same portion of hair and wrap it towards the back of the head.

Step 3 / Separate the section into three pieces and cross the side strands over the middle, beginning a regular braid.
Step 4 / Next, take a small section of hair, on the left side, directly in front of the portion being braided, and add it into the braid to create a french braid.
Step 5 / Now repeat step 4 on the right side, bringing in a small section of hair.
Step 6 / Incorporate the small sections into theΒ french braid.
Step 7 / Continue braiding, bringing in small sections of hair, working towards the front hairline.
Step 8 / Repeat steps 4 through 7 until the strands around the face and above the ears are brought into the braid.
Step 9 / Tie off the end of the braid with a clear elastic band.
Step 10 / Tie a hair ribbon over the clear elastic band to hide it.

Very pretty braids. But I’d like to see videos how to…it is better to understand each braid how is made.
I tried some that have videos and it was a success. Thank you.

I might actually be able to pull off a shorter version of this style. You had me at the ribbon though. Too adorable.

Missy Sue, I just stumbled across your blog and am in love! I have long, dirty, blonde hair was considering cutting it until tonight – now I have your fun styles to help me fall in love with my hair again.
Can I ask if you wax or tweeze your brows? They look great!
