Wearing dramatic prints can be intimidating. Yet, when you want to wear something eye-catching without catching stares a good rule of thumb is to stick to one print at a time. Choosing one pattern and keeping the rest of your ensemble neutral helps nix the notion that your look is overcrowded. It is very possible to mix prints and something I hope to begin doing in the future but we will leave that for a later day.
If you are new to prints, beginning with a patterned accessory is a great way to get your feet wet. Next, layering a patterned top with a neutral one can stave off the notion of going at it full throttle yet. Once you are comfortable with that, wearing a patterned top alone sets the ball in motion for wearing printed pants (one of the braver concepts). Throwing on a pair of patterned leggings is a bold move in my book but I plan to embrace the notion of playing in graphics entirely. Hopefully this will help you adopt the style too.
