When this darling little palette came out, the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette, I told myself flat out that I was not going to buy it. I convinced myself that I already had all the shades somewhere else, in another palette probably, already tucked safely in a drawer. I did pretty well at it too. Seeing it here or there and never feeling the temptation to try it out for myself. Obviously, we all know how this story ends because I caved over the weekend and decided “why the not.”

I honestly didn’t think much about it the rest of the day. When I got home that night however, and pulled it out of its box, I immediately fell in love. I imagine it’s exactly like when a new mother holds her newborn for the first time {joke!}. I held it perfectly in my hand and stared down at it lovingly. Right away I wanted to carry it with me everywhere I went; for no apparent reason other than to have it all the time. It was like a new Kelly doll, reverting back to my 8 year old self when I kept her in my purse, never pulling her out for fear people would know I still carried a doll. I knew that was silly {of course, psh!}, so I just laid it on my desk and glanced at it every time I walked by, ensuring its safety, and gazing at it’s loveliness.

This palette really is beautiful though and the colors are immensely pigmented. It was a worthy purchase and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a basic eye palette with neutral shades. It truly is perfect. So sorry, Kelly, but you have been officially replaced.
