Summer is officially here and with it comes the hot, hot heat. I don’t know about you but I am not about to pull out my blow dryer and curling iron to do my hair every day. It is just too darn hot!
I’ve been trying to think of fun new hairstyles to wear to work and the rope braid is an old favorite of mine. I learned how to do this cool braid back when I was 13 and a girl in my class had it in her hair.
I absolutely love this hairstyle on days when I want to wear a hat and can’t have a bun sitting on top of my noggin. That makes it perfect for wearing any time I’m outside at the pool, the beach, or shopping around my favorites stores.
This cool rope braid is easy to do and a great alternative to the traditional ponytail. It works best on hair that is day or two old and all it requires is a small elastic and tiny touch of hair spray.
To begin:
1- Start by pulling your hair to one side, and separating it into two sections.
2- Then twist each section in the same counter-clockwise direction.
3- Next, pull the strand in the back over the strand in the front.
4- And continue wrapping it under and towards the back again.
5- Repeat this motion until you reach the end of your hair.
6- Then secure it with an elastic.
7- Pull on the sides of the braid to loosen them and create volume within the braid.
8- You’re done!
This is such a great hairstyle if you want to take a break from the traditional ponytail or side braid and is nice when you are in a rush to get out the door.
So toss your hair into this rope braid and you’ll have one of the cutest hairstyles this summer!
