I’ve either been living under a rock or hiding in a cave because I’ve just recently been introduced to BB cream. What is BB cream?
“BB cream stands for blemish balm, blemish base, or beauty balm. [It’s] promoted as an all-in-one facial cosmetic product to replace serum, moisturizer, primer, foundation, and sunblock. It can be worn alone as a tinted moisturizer, over serum and moisturizer as a regular foundation, and under powder, depending on the desired amount of coverage.”
All that in one product? Whoa. Count me in.
When I first learned about it I just thought it was a tinted moisturizer and was thinking “What’s the hype about?” because tinted moisturizers have been around a while. Apparently these have too but pack quite the punch.
When I decided to give it a go I went with the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream because I’ve acquired a likeness to many of their other products. It’s pretty much super amazing. [Yes I talk like that in real life too.] I’ve been a big fan of the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer but found this BB cream goes on a lot smoother and more like lotion than foundation.
I’ll just add it into the mix and use it with my other tinted moisturizers.
Will you try BB creams?

I love the Maybelline BB cream and the Garnier BB cream. The Maybelline runs a little lighter for this time of year, where the light in the Garnier runs a little darker and is perfect for adding a little more color in the late spring/summer. I’ve taken to just wearing that with a little concealer under my eyes and setting it with a mineral powder to cut some of the shine. I was a true foundation junkie prior to this product.

I love my BB cream- as a nurse that is my go to product on nights I work- and when I’m going out I use it as a base for my foundation for a wonderful look!
