Recently I updated my nighttime skincare and was sharing on snapchat (missysueblog) about how my skin had started flaring up around Thanksgiving and was desperate to find something that would get my skin back on track. I was suffering from cystic acne on my chin and blemishes around my cheekbones. I didn’t know what was going on! Embarrassingly enough though, I think it was dirty makeup brushes, gross!
Many of you asked for a review of the new products I’d started using so hopefully this is helpful to some of you. I have been doing this routine every night to make sure my skin is nice and clean before hitting the pillow. If you have any great products please share them in the comments below, let’s all help each other out!
First things first, I always start by washing my face. When I have an active blemish or can feel one under the skin I always wash my face with this soap bar. I am obsessed with the way it smells and use a wash cloth to gently massage the soap into my skin to remove any makeup.
After drying off my face, I use this makeup remover to remove any leftover eyeliner and mascara under my eyes. I really love this and have been using it for years!
On nights when I am super tired and don’t want to wash my face in the sink, I will reach for some makeup removing wipes. I try not to use them very often but I currently have these ones and usually always repurchase these ones. I always follow with this cleansing water and am literally obsessed with it. I need to purchase some more; sometimes I will use this in place of the toners below.
Once I’ve washed my face and removed any eye makeup then I like to go back over my skin with a toner. I really love this one for breakouts and received it as a free gift with other items I purchased. Otherwise I use this toner (for dry skin!) and have already gone through two other bottles.
This probably seems like an extra step but you’d be so surprised at how much extra makeup ends up on that little cotton round. I usually alway miss makeup around my hairline and near my ears.
These two little guys come in after all the washing and I purchased these in this little kit that is so convenient because it includes a few other products that I use in the morning too. I first apply the tabula rasa on any blemishes, wait a few seconds and then swipe on the blemish lotion.
Following the above treatments I love to first apply this repair cream and let it set for a few minutes before applying a moisturizer. I recently invested in this moisturizing cream and can’t tell you how much I love it. I was able to get it together with the eye cream and only wish I’d made the leap sooner.
Whenever I am traveling I love to take a travel size bottle of soap and use my Mia Fit to wash my face. This always gives me a nice scrub and saves on packing additional wash cloths and products since I use this soap for Cohen too.
Lastly, I love to use this face oil on my neck. I slather on three drops after applying my moisturizing cream. I have read so many skincare articles that say to never forget about the neck and decollete. I feel like this oil is both an added bit of moisture and hopefully makes up for all the years I neglected that area.
