The day that I became a mother was incredibly painful and exhilarating and exhausting and beautiful. It was an overwhelming experience that I hope I never forget. The moment I held baby Cohen in my arms I was completely speechless at the remarkable feelings that came over me. Feelings I didn’t know could be felt enveloped me. I stared down at the babe in my arms and couldn’t believe he was finally here.

I can’t be a mother, but my mother being a mother to me was very important to me, and my mother is the most important thing to me.
Being a mom has been the hardest job but the most rewarding gift I have ever been given. My kids are the pearls in my crown and I lost my own mother a few months ago taking care of her at home hospice I learned a few things. The sacrifices mothers make. Like giving away that extra helping from our dinner plate to give to our hungry boy. And say “I’m so full I can’t eat another bite”. The sacrifices my own mother did for me like making me dresses growing up to put clothes on my back. Forever I will be thankful for such a mother. I pray I will be half the mother she was.

I first knew I was a mom the day I took my newborn son home and my dad met him for the first time. He had a hard time even walking, but he met us at the door with a big smile on his face. It damned on me then that I was truly a mom and had given my dad the greatest gift of being a grandpa.

I first knew I was a mom when I was 5 mos pregnant and working a terribly stressful job. My boss would email me in the middle of the night threatening my job or a pay cut. I would wake up and have such anxiety. The day I stopped working there, I was so relieved and immediately my baby was so active. I knew right then every decision I ever make will affect him somehow, and it is my responsibilty to protect him, even from stress while still baking in the oven ♡

I am not a mom yet but the first time I realized I was an aunt was when my niece hugged me and told me she loved me as much as her own mom.
In the hospital the morning after I had my first child, I noticed she hasn’t been changed in probably hours and I called for a nurse to ask where the diapers were kept realizing it was my job to change her and take care of her. She was officially mine. I was her mother and always would be.
