30 Weeks Pregnancy Update

Baby’s gender:

Baby’s size:

Your baby’s about 15.7 inches long now, and weighs almost 3 pounds (about the size of a large cabbage).

Baby’s development:

A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds him, but that volume will shrink as he gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus.

His eyesight continues to develop, though it’s not very keen; even after birth, he’ll keep his eyes closed for a good part of the day. When he does open them, he’ll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision – which means he can only make out objects a few inches from his face.

My weight gain:

22 lbs

Feeling: 

Amazed at how quickly the time is going by! I remember being at 12, 15 weeks and thinking it was going to be a long time before I reached 30 weeks and now it’s here!

Things of Note:

I can’t even believe Thanksgiving is over and Christmas is already almost here! The time is flying past and I am scared and anxious all at the same time for this little man to come. I dream and fantasize about what he’ll look like all the time. He is constantly wiggling around and moving in my stomach which everyone says is a sign he is a strong, healthy boy. My fingers are still crossed that is true. I simply can’t help but hope and worry that everything is going okay in there.

Sometimes when I am driving Gooch will sit on my stomach while he looks out the window and baby boy will kick him. It’s pretty awesome cuz Gooch turns around to look at me and I’m like “it wasn’t me!”

It’s really fun to see him moving around in there. My stomach rolls and bumps with all the turning and kicking. It’s literally as if he’s doing somersaults and you can see my stomach poke up and roll around from left to right. Sometimes it feels like he’s laying side ways from left to right and my stomach creates an awkward oblong lump.

Also, whenever I am editing a hair tutorial or video with myself talking through it, he starts moving around a lot more. Maybe what they say about them knowing your voice is true; it certainly gets him going.
