25 Weeks Pregnancy Update

Baby’s gender:

Boy {we might have a name!}

Baby’s size:

Baby measures 13 1/2 inches, weighing 1.5 pounds, size of a rutabaga.

Baby’s development:

He’s beginning to exchange his long, lean look for some baby fat.

His wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and he’ll start to look more and more like a newborn.

He’s also growing more hair and if you could see it, you’d now be able to discern its color and texture.

My weight gain:

17 lbs

Feeling: 

More normal but I am noticing that simple tasks, such as getting dressed or walking a certain distance, tires me out quickly and I have to stop and rest afterwards. Bending over is becoming more difficult and I often kneel down to pick things up instead.

Morning sickness: 

I try to eat a light meal before bed so when I wake up I don’t experience very much nausea. This helps but sometimes I get up and know I need to eat first thing or else I’ll be woozy all morning. Other than that, I try to eat as soon as the slightest feeling of nausea strikes.

Cravings: 

I love all the same foods as I did before but find myself wanting saltier foods over the sweet things. I opt for eggs & hash browns over pancakes, beef over chicken or turkey, and always crave string cheese and milk.

Things of Note:

I recently attended a blogger event and as I mixed and mingled, gradually found out that a few of them were also pregnant. I immediately feel a kinship with these other mothers-to-be and wanted to form a big kumbaya circle and talk about our feelings. It’s so neat going through this experience and knowing there are other ladies out there experiencing it too.
