21 Weeks Pregnancy Update
21 weeks
Baby’s size:
Length of a Carrot – 10 1/2 inches
Baby’s development:
Baby’s eyebrows and lids are present now.
Fluttering movements have turned into full-fledged kicks and nudges (that is a bit of an understatement, guv’na!)
Baby’s weight:
3/4 of a pound
Food cravings:
Water, water, water – basically I could drink my weight in water every second of the day
Weight gained:
12 lbs
Dislikes:
None, but I tend to get full really quickly whereas in the first trimester I had to remind myself when to stop eating.
Feeling:
Utterly exhausted – does it ever end?
Random changes:
- Baby wakes up early every morning, kicking as if to wake me up. It was quite alarming the very first time. I could actually see my stomach poke up and down and even roll like a wave.
- Every night it starts up again and it feels as though baby is doing somersaults in there. It is literally the coolest thing I’ve ever experienced and I love laying there watching it.
- I always spill food on myself now. I wasn’t messy before but now I have to physically stop and check my shirt while I eat.
- My balance is already shifting and I run into random things; it’s actually kind of embarrassing.
- My depth perception is already off too and when I squeeze past something my stomach grazes the object; it’s alarming.
- At night and in the morning, my stomach and chest are very itchy so I’ve started putting coconut oil all over.
- I find myself worrying about odd things like if the baby is cold when I am cold.
Clothing favorites:
- Old Navy and Gap jeans {thanks to everyone for the recommendations!}
- Loose, warm tops like this one from J.Crew
