April Beauty Favorites features a good mixture of high end and more affordable products. I absolutely love finding excellent quality products at the drugstore because it becomes a beauty staple from then on. I am excited to share this month’s favorites because these are all great items and ones I have had on constant rotation in this month’s beauty routine.
CoverGirl TruBlend Liquid Makeup L2 – I bought this makeup because it was a new product and I was curious to see how well it would work. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the makeup had longer lasting power than I had anticipated. The coverage is sheer to medium but blends easily and dries completely. All things I look for in a great foundation. Sadly, I also found that it is a tiny bit too dark for my skin tone so I mix it with the Revlon PhotoReady foundation (from this post) which creates the perfect shade. If you have fair skin like I do then I would opt for the L1 shade when purchasing.
MAC Bronzing Powder in Matte Bronze – This is a great powder for contouring. It is a matte shade so it doesn’t give off any shimmer which is perfect for creating natural definition under the cheekbones and along the hairline. The powder is also a neutral brown, instead of an orange like many other bronzers, which also attributes to the natural look desired from a great contour shade. It is such an easy powder to blend as well which is so important when creating definition throughout the face and achieving a natural appearance.
Milani Blush in Luminoso – I cannot get enough of this blush. It is a peach-pink shade and perfect for creating a natural flush to the cheeks. It goes on subtly and blends easily. It is perfect for those with warmer skin tones though I would like to think it is perfect for everyone since it is the perfect combination of peach and pink tones.
Benefit Cosmetics Watt’s Up – I received this as a free gift and was so excited to try it out. It is a highlighter and perfect for adding an easy glow to the cheekbones. It has a cream to powder consistency and is a gorgeous champagne color. The mini size is perfect too for tossing in my bag to reapply after work when I am heading out to dinner.
BareMinerals Eyeshadow Quad in The True Romantic – I literally cannot get enough of this little eyeshadow quad. Especially the pretty champagne pink color which is perfect for wearing by itself. I love to apply it when I am in a hurry to add a quick shimmer to the lids. I did an entire eye makeup tutorial with this little baby if you want to watch it. You can find it here –> bareMinerals Full Flawless Face Routine.
MAC Lipstick in Lady Danger – I did a post recently about orange lipsticks, the Ultimate Orange Lipstick Guide, and received a few comments about needing to try Lady Danger. When I finally purchased it I was so excited to add it to my beauty routine especially after all the great things I had heard about it. It is a perfect orange-red shade and adds an intense amount of color to the lips. Perfect for a red based lipstick. It is also a matte lipstick which is my preferred choice of texture because it stays in place and lasts throughout the day.

Have you tried Younique’s 3D Fiber Lashes made from natural green tea fibers? Gives you 10x the lashes on your natural lashes. I have hardly any lashes and now I have the ones I had always wanted! Really worth trying!
