Foundation is a great product for evening out the skin tone of your face. It creates a smooth, blank canvas for the other makeup products and can be used to hide blemishes, scarring, or in my case, freckles.
Follow these quick steps to make your skin look perfect even when it’s not!
Step 1: Find the right color match
Swipe a bit of foundation on your jawline and look at it in daylight. If the color is a good match it should disappear without needing any blending. Beauty counters can help you test out different shades and even send you home with a sample to try out on your own. When you find your true match, take it to the drugstore to find your perfect shade there too.
Step 2: Prep your skin
Before applying foundation, make sure your skin is clean and moisturized. If you have dry skin like I do, wait five minutes after your moisturizer before applying anything else. Primer is also an excellent way to ensure your makeup lasts through the night. Primer has a great formula that minimizes pores and helps mattify your skin.
Step 3: Apply it right
There are many tools to applying foundation. For a light coverage, using your fingers works best. During the day, it’s possible to dab a little foundation only on those spots where it’s needed the most. Foundation can help hide blemishes and camouflage redness. For a look that appears airbrushed, blend makeup over the entire face from the middle out; no skimping on the eye area.
Step 4: Do concealer after foundation
Putting foundation on before concealer keeps it from creasing and ensures you don’t use more than you need. Choose a shade that is one hint lighter than your skin and apply it under the eyes with a small, pointy brush and over other little skin flaws.

Hello, I just searched for wordpress templates until I found one I liked then created the side bar items and the title (:
Your face looks flawless and I have heard of using a brush for applying, but when I have used one in the past, I see the brush strokes. Is there a way around that or is it just the brush I’m using?
Hi Evie! I’m so glad you asked! I get brush strokes too and usually go back over my face with a triangle sponge and “pat” out the strokes left behind. It works really well ((:
