When we moved into our new place, I had to figure out a convenient way to organize my makeup in the long, shallow drawers of the bathroom. Simply tossing in the cosmetics randomly wasn’t going to do the trick. Below are a few helpful, little tricks to remember the next time you’re in the same jam.

1. Before heading to the store, I measured the length, width, and depth of each drawer so I knew which size the baskets should be and how many would fit.
2. I also carried in my pocket two different sized blushes so I could test whether they would fit on their sides in the baskets; as seen in the far left side of the picture below.
3. Arranging the baskets in the drawer took some trial and error but eventually I was able to fit two wide and two narrow in the top two drawers and then larger baskets in the bottom two drawers.
4. Lastly, I filled each basket with the appropriately grouped items ie. face powder, bronzer, blush (as shown); then face wash, face cream, bb creams, combs & brushes, hair accessories, etc. in the lower drawers.

I bought similar baskets to store my makeup in my bathroom drawer. The one measurement I forgot to take was how high the drawer was. I accidentally bought baskets that were too tall for my drawers. I was so bummed!
P.S. love the pink tiles –I have an early 1960s pink bathroom
