Every morning when I stand in front of my sink, pull out my brushes, and open up my supplies I feel like an artist standing in front of a blank canvas. The canvas is predetermined with shapes, crevices, and textures but I am the master who determines the finished piece.

The process masks my bare skin and brings life to flat features. Foundation smoothing over freckles, concealer hiding redness, blush to add a flush to the cheeks, a myriad of colors to shape and contour the eyes, creamy lipstick to add a pop near the chin.

Makeup is an art and one that takes many hours of practice. Sometimes it works out smoothly and other times it does not. Either way, makeup can be fun. It is a joy to create something unique every morning. Even if the blank canvas is always the same face, the many colors and supplies at my fingertips leaves endless possibilities to create.
