1. Try a hair bungee with a hook on each end. It can be tricky at first but it wraps tighter than a regular elastic and your ponytail will stay in place better.
2. Spray a volumizer at the roots and blast them with a blow-dryer; then rake your hair back with your hands instead of a brush.
3. Place the elastic slightly lower than where you actually want the ponytail to sit. To draw the eyes up and make cheekbones look sharper, place it just below the crown. Loop the bungee around the tail, divide the hair into top and bottom sections, and pull in opposite directions. The elastic will rise up a notch and give a flatter bump at the crown.
4. Control frizz and flyaways, which tend to look messy, with a dab of smoothing cream; I love bb. brilliantine. -via Allure magazine

I have a love/hate relationship with ponytails. I love the ponytail itself but hate how from the front I look naked. Maybe it’s the shape of my head, maybe I’m just weird.
AJ thinks ponytails are really attractive because
and I quote “the girl has a little flag behind her.” Like look at me I’m a flag! Trust me, I tease him about that, swooping it up saying “check out my flag!” I do like that he appreciates them though because then I don’t feel as weird when I wear one. I tend to feel a little librarian-ish with a pony tail so I’ll wrap the ponytail into a bun which probably doesn’t actually help with the whole library aspect of it.
If I pop my bangs into a pompadour type style then that usually does the trick. I just have to check with AJ to make sure I don’t look like a rhinoceros with a horn on my head.

I’m confused and intrigued on how you do the pony with the two sections. Can you post a video? I would love to try it.
