During the winter, my skin goes from dry to extremely dry. It is mostly due in part to living in a dry climate but a portion of it also comes from genetics. Either way, finding great products that moisturize my skin and keep it smooth becomes a constant endeavor. Recently, I discovered Suave Professionals® Moroccan Infusion Body Care line. It works with my dry skin because it’s infused with Moroccan argan oil that is non-greasy and absorbs instantly.

They are both clinically proven to moisturize, feature a light, luxurious fragrance and are infused with authentic Moroccan argan oil, a lightweight miracle oil known to be rich in nutrients and antioxidants.

I recently took a trip to Target to try out the new Cartwheel app on my phone. With Cartwheel, I was able to see which items had a discount and ended up walking out with a bundle of savings!

This free app, Target Cartwheel, offers more than 700 coupons that can be used right in the store. All I had to do was create a profile before having access to amazing daily coupons at Target!

Using the app is easy because it creates a single barcode that can be scanned on any item in the store and it will tell you whether that item has a Cartwheel offer on it. It is that easy to use and a great way to save!
To sign up for the app, you simply type in your Facebook login to create a profile and can see what offers your friends have on their Cartwheel lists. The app can also be accessed on your desktop, tablet, or even on your mobile web.
Each barcode generated by Cartwheel is unique to the guest and holds all of the offers on their Cartwheel list. All you need to do is simply scan the barcode one time at the point of purchase and all the discounts on your list will be applied!
Discount offers can be used as many times as you want until it expires with a few exceptions such as a limit of 4 items per offer, per transaction; limit of 6 Cartwheel scans per day.
The app is designed for in-store purchases and you can also login with your Target.com login if you would prefer to keep any items on your lists “private” or by changing the settings in the privacy section of the app.
Cartwheel can also be used alongside other Target discounts or coupons, manufacturers’ coupons and your REDcard discount.
Badges are a fun way to earn more spots on your Cartwheel list! They are awarded for reaching savings milestones ($10, $25, $50, etc.), interacting with Cartwheel (example: adding an offer from a collection to your list), and via social sharing (an invited friend who joins Cartwheel). For each badge that is earned, a new spot on your Cartwheel list is opened.
Each guest starts with 10 spots on their list. More spots are earned when badges are awarded.
Cartwheel collections are curated lists of offers that make it easy for the guest on the go to add items to her list. The collections are created to support seasonal offerings and categorical offers (grocery, women’s apparel, baby items, etc.). Collections are not comprehensive lists of all offers.
When you download the app, what items would you like to save on? Leave a comment below to let me know and you will be entered into a random drawing for a $1,000 Target GiftCard®.

I have been a fan of Almay cosmetics since I learned how to apply eye liner as a teen. The first time I purchased an Almay product I noticed how everything was organized by eye color. This made finding items that would look great with my blue eyes a smooth success.

Whenever I have a girl’s night planned, I like to use it as an opportunity to try out a fun, new makeup look that I know my friends would appreciate. Whether it’s creating a chic cat-eye with a touch of liner or sweeping on a new lip gloss color, I know using outstanding products like Almay’s make creating an exceptional look an easy effort.

Kate Bryan, from the Small Things Blog, has some quick tips for creating the perfect complexion for a girl’s night out.

Sometimes I get this overwhelming feeling of failure and hits me like a sack of bricks. I go through the day with the intent to succeed, taking on one project after another stacking them up until I’ve got a tower so tall it disappears into the clouds.

I step back, glance up, and see it gleaming in the light. A huge grin spreading across my face.

As I stand there admiring what I’ve built, it starts to waver. Swaying ever so slightly, the top slides off and comes tumbling down, falling smack onto the floor.

I look down at the mess, frustrated. “What’s going on?” I ask.

Then more starts to fall. I jump out of the way thinking, “why is this happening?”

Then another falls and then another. The hopelessness starts to sink in and I fall to my knees; “why isn’t this easy?”

I glance around at the mess thinking nothing else could go wrong when one hits me square on the head and I cry out, “why won’t this work?”

One right after the next and pretty soon my tower is toppling. I try to grasp as much of it as I can, trying to hold it in place. It feels so heavy I just want to let go; I just want to give up.

I look around at the mess and feel helpless. “I’ll never accomplish anything.” All this time grasping at goals just out of reach, now miles away.

I sit back and sigh, “what should I do?” “Is it time to give up?”

I gaze up trying to find a new perspective when I come across this quote:
“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

I think back to my tower trying, with all my might, to look at it a different way.
Is the tower really falling or did I make it fall?

I build my tower as tall and high as I possibly can but the truth is that I don’t need the tallest tower. I don’t need a tower so high that it disappears into the clouds. What I need is a tower so strong, so sturdy it won’t tumble down.

I need to change the way I see my tower; I need to build it a new way.

Five songs that symbolize memories in my life:

Madonna – Cheerio Girl (Material Girl)
When I was about 7 years old I used to play this song on full blast and dance around the living room, jumping on the furniture singing “Livin in a cheerio world, and I am a uh cheerio girl! You KNOW!” Whenever I hear the song now that’s always the memory that I remember.

Donna Lewis – I Love You, Always Forever
This was my first, true favorite song. I was in junior high school and used to lay on the floor of my room listening to the radio on my tape deck. When I first heard this song it spoke to me unlike any song before it. I was so desperate to hear it again that I quickly wrote down the time and radio station hoping to listen to it again the next day. When it didn’t play again I was so disappointed. I soon realized that the radios didn’t play the same songs in the same order every day so I got an idea. I found a blank tape and decided to wait patiently by the radio for that song to play and I could record it onto the tape. Pretty soon I was listening to it all the time until my father bought me the real tape for Christmas that year. It was one of the best gifts I’d ever received and I hadn’t even asked for it (:

Seal – Love’s Divine
I discovered this song at a very low point in my life. I was up at college and everything was falling apart. I was doing awful in my classes, couldn’t decide on a major, wasn’t getting along with my friends, had recently been in a car accident and my parents lived on the other side of the world. I used to go to the commons area in the apartment complex and sit on the couches by myself. On this particular night the room was completely dark and the only light coming in was from a street lamp outside. It was around 1 AM and I could see the snow falling outside through the dim light. I sat on that couch in the corner, playing this song over and over, silently crying to myself because I felt completely and utterly alone; as though no one in the world cared about me.

Leona Lewis – Bleeding Love
Hands down, this is one of my all-time favorite songs. This song came out while I was in college and my roommate would do an awesome karaoke dance whenever we listened to it. She’d mouth the words and dance along as though her heart had been broken by the most gorgeous guy in school. It was hilarious and is one of my favorite memories from my college years. Whenever the song comes on now, I’ll throw myself against a wall and slowly sink to the ground like something out of the 80’s in agony of my lost love. AJ gets a kick out of it every time.

Temper Trap – Sweet Disposition
This is our wedding video song. We don’t actually have “a song” but this song always reminds me of our wedding day, our courtship, and how far we’ve come since childhood to where we are now. It’s a very sweet, reminiscent one.

It’s truly amazing how a song can have such an impact of my life. I’ll hear it and all the memories and feelings will come rushing back to me. I am so grateful for music. It is one of my favorite things in this world and I’m glad I was able to share these songs with you. I hope you have a set of your own because music really is so wonderful and a great way to hold on to those distant memories.

*My current favorite bands are Mumford and Sons and Florence and the Machine (:

Quote of the Day:

Me: “What do you wanna do now?”
AJ: “I don’t know. I hadn’t planned this far ahead. I thought we’d be dead by now.”
