When you have the craving for something fancy, lace is a failsafe go-to. Experimenting with unexpected colors, menswear cuts, and unusual accents can help keep this timeless trend tromping through the seasons. Styling lace properly can be tricky to maneuver so here are a few key tips to keep in mind the next time a lacy number slips off its hanger and into your life.

1 / Keep it Classic

During the day it is best to stick with basic silhouettes such as sheath dresses and pencil or midi skirts. Lace is so intricate that it is important to keep it clean especially at the office.

2 / Go Bright
Swap traditional shades such as black and light pink for bolder hues. Stick to one shade, however, which will keep it from looking brash.

3 / Dare to be Sexy

The key here is keeping the look effortlessly sexy, daring yet demure. Maintain a flowy, feminine shape instead of slinky garb that leave little to the imagination.

Plaid is one of the universal signs of Fall. It spurs memories of camping, roasting marshmallows around a fire, and being outdoors. Plaid can seem difficult to wear, however, when there is a fear of channeling too much of a lumberjack vibe. I have had my eye out for one that falters on the feminine side and love that this one sports a pink and navy combo which are two of my favorite colors.

When putting an outfit together, pairing plaid with a skirt boasts a dressier style to the ensemble. Wearing it with colored jeans will give the look a trendier quality. If you’re hesitant about wearing plaid, layering a sweater over it will feature only accents of the style and layering a vest over plaid also tones down the design but still gives a pop of pattern.

Dressing for a trip to the airport and a long flight can feeling overwhelming. There are many factors to take into account such as security, temperature, length of flight, and all the walking it entails through the terminal. Knowing the right items to wear can take out the guess work and make the over all experience more enjoyable.

1 / The Shirt
Wearing a tissue soft t-shirt in white, gray, or black looks polished without being too dressy.

2 / The Blazer
A black or navy blazer looks chic when you are strolling through the airport. It provides warmth but is also easy to carry if it comes off.

3 / The Pants
Black or dark denim jeans with a hint of stretch and higher rise are comfortable and sleek.

4 / The Scarf
A scarf that can double as a blanket while enroute is convenient when the temperature dips.

5 / The Bag
A bag large enough to carry the essentials but not so big it is impossible to carry is an ideal item to travel with.

6 / The Shoes
Ankle boots in black or brown keep the feet warm during flight but are also easy to take off when scurrying through security.

7 / The Jewelry
Keeping jewelry to a minimum helps breezing through security easier.

Hopefully your next trip to the airport will be a breeze! Safe flying.
