Cropped Sweater Maxi Skirt
Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I so excited for the time off from work and the holiday too. It is a great time to be thankful for the things we have and appreciative of the people in our lives. Friends and family are a true blessing and one of the greatest gifts we can ever receive. I am grateful for my own family and the love that we share when we are together. I am glad for the opportunity to spend the few days with them and get to know them better.

White after Labor Day is what is happening over here.

Rules were meant to be broken and, when it comes to fashion, should be done all the time. Wearing white after Labor Day was a rule instated years and years ago but luckily we are finally breaking free of it.

Fashion is a way to express ourselves and an easy way to show others who we are as people. Our appearance is the first thing people see which makes our clothing choices a very important, every day, decision.

Other rules that are great to break include pairing black with brown, black with navy, matching our bag with our shoes, and mixing silver and gold metals. Try choosing one of these rules to break and then another until you are comfortable wearing whatever it is you please. Before long we will all be parading the streets as fashionable hooligans.

When sweatshirts became a fashion trend for Fall, I could feel heaven smiling down on us. The clouds opened and a ray of sunshine lit up the sky. Life has been good since sweatshirts became a day appropriate item. They are comfortable, cozy, and affordable yet it can be difficult to force yourself into wearing it stylishly instead of with comfy sweat pants and thick socks. Luckily, there are a myriad of ways to wear a sweatshirt taking it from drab to fab in a matter of seconds.
1 / Layered Lady
Pair a shrunken crewneck sweatshirt over a printed button up, think plaid or polka dot, with a knee-length pencil skirt that hits higher on the waist. Slip on a sexy heel and pick up a clutch to flaunt your style at the office and running errands afterwards.
2 / Borrowed from the Boys
Throw a sweatshirt on with a pair of baggy or tapered trousers. Choose a dressier pair of pants to keep the feminine appeal and push your sleeves up. Add pointy heels and dainty jewelry to top of the look.
3 / Tough Edge
Slip on leather leggings, oxblood or green in color is a plus, with a heather gray sweatshirt. Adorn your neckline with chunky jewels and a pair of strappy heels to nail the tough girl look
4 / Dress it Down

Easing into a pretty floral dress with a sweatshirt gives a laid back vibe while still looking chic. With a pair of sandals or ankle length booties, you have got the perfect ensemble for grabbing lunch with a friend or scooping of prized produce at the farmers market.

It is hard to believe that denim did not become fashionable until the 1970’s. It is such a staple in every closet that it would seem it has been around since the beginning of time. Such as it is with every style or trend, however, denim too had its start.

Denim pairs well with nearly everything and in more ways than imaginable. They can be dressed up or down and completely interchangeable when either dressing for the office, a night out, or lounging around the house. They also come in such a wide assortment of washes and shades that pairing denim with denim is now a completely acceptable expression of style.

My personal favorite is a denim button up shirt paired with a patterned skirt or dress, or a denim jacket with jeans like above.
