What's in my Beach Bag

We have been spending every weekend at the lake this summer so I thought it would be fun to share what I take every time we go. I literally pack a gigantic bag of stuff each time. Now that I have a new baby it is always necessary to keep some essential items with me at all times; diapers especially!

This video will be a part of a summer series I am doing where I will share what I take with me to the lake (beach bag!), a great makeup look that is light and easy for summer, and a cute hairstyle that is super chic and on trend this season! Stay tuned for the other videos coming later this week and I hope you enjoy them!

What’s in my Beach Bag!

I was feeling like it was time for another Get Ready with Me video so here it is! This is what I normally wear when I plan on filming. It is a full-coverage look which I prefer when I am making a hair tutorial or video in general. Leave me a comment below if you’d like to see a lighter look for a trip to the lake or day at the beach and I hope you enjoy it!

It’s that time of the month for the Ipsy Glam bag review! I’ve started doing these on a regular basis and really look forward to getting my bag each month. Ipsy costs $10 a month and you receive a mix of full-size and sample size products. Each bag is an assortment of products so you may receive different products than I show here. Either way it’s super fun to see what other people get! Check out May, April, March, and February to see what else has come from Ipsy!

Befine Cucumber Facial Mask – This was the first item I pulled out of the bag and was slightly disappointed when I thought it was moisturizer. I’ve received so many of those I wasn’t too keen on one more. Turned out though it was a facial mask so that was really nice. This is a cooling mask that revitalizes, repairs and rejuvenates the complexion. Also, I found their website hard to navigate which was a bummer ):

Tre’StiQue Mini Shadow Crayon, $11 – I was surprised by this product at first since it looks like it doesn’t have a cap. Once I pulled off the top and saw that the actual product was inside I thought it was pretty cool. The color is fairly dark so I’ll need to remember to be light-handed when applying it. I do love how easy it is to blend. I rarely use products like this though so I wonder if I’ll remember it’s in my makeup drawer.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer, $42 – This is such a cute little sample but I actually own this in the larger trial size and am not a fan. My skin is naturally dry so I thought it would help add some moisture to my skin but it just feels oily and slick and makes applying makeup difficult. I’ll have to find someone who would want this so I can give it to them.

IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil in Universal Taupe, $12 – I love eyebrow products and was so excited to receive this. It is super convenient that it comes with a brush on one end and the product on the other. I was scared at first to see which shade it was but was so happy when I saw it was a color that I could actually use! So many times I receive products for brunettes and I always just throw them away out of annoyance or give them to a friend if I know they’re a good product.

Formula X Power Source Nail Color – A cute, teeny tiny sample bottle but the perfect shade for Summer. I really love bright, bold toes during the warmer months so I was excited about this polish.

ipsy-june-glam-bag-reviewipsy-beauty-glam-bag-review-juneLooking back over this month’s bag, I was really only excited about the brow power product so kind of a bummer bag in my opinion. Tallying up the price of the products though, this bag was worth the $10 price.

If you are interested in subscribing or learning more, visit Ipsy by clicling here. I also just learned that if you want to skip the Waiting List, you can e-mail ipsy Care and they will get you subscribed that day!

ipsy-glam-bag-may-2015Ipsy is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. Each month you get a makeup bag with your subscription and this month’s is really cute!

The bag features full size or deluxe-sized products, plus a cute makeup bag. I think it’s one of the best value beauty subscriptions and a great way to build out your makeup collection on the cheap!

Ipsy sends out many different variations of their bag each month – so my review is just one of the bag variations you might receive!

Urban Decay Revolution High Color Lipgloss & Ozone 24/7 Glide-on Lip Pencil, $17 – This Urban Decay long-lasting lip primer glides on smoothly to line and define the lips. I loved receiving this as I had never heard of it before. I wasn’t too excited about the size of the samples but will definitely be using the lip pencil. It’s nearly a full-size version too!

Luxie 205 Tapered Blending Brush, $12 – A great brush for blending eyeshadow. I loved getting a brush in this month’s ipsy bag because you can never have too many blending brushes! It’s so cute with its pink handle and the synthetic bristles are extremely soft too.

Bellapierre’s Gel Eyeliner, $14.99 – a “creamy, preservative-free eyeliner pencil” with “pure 100% minerals, natural waxes and anti oxidants.” It’s waterproof and designed to glide on smoothly. I wasn’t too excited about this because a black eyeliner comes in nearly every beauty bag so I’ve already got a drawer full of them.

Bare Republic Naturals, $14.99 – A lightly tinted 100% natural, chemical-free active SPF 30 face sunscreen. It is lightweight, non-whitening, non-greasy, and lightly tinted application is perfect to use with or without makeup. This product smells very strongly of sunscreen. I don’t mind the smell since it’s very nostalgic. After applying it, it was extremely greasy but once it dried, was a great primer for the rest of my makeup.

Pixi by Petra Beauty Bronzer, $18 – A deluxe bronzing powder that gives your complexion the warmth and luminosity of naturally sun-kissed skin. A really great bronzer for my paleness. Many bronzers are overwhelming against my light skin but this shade works perfectly. I apply it to the apples of my cheeks, forehead, chin, and nose for a nice bronzed effect.

I recently purchased the Urban Decay Naked2 Basics palette and have been wanting to do a tutorial with it ever since. This is a simple look that is easy to do and perfect for every day.

I admit when this palette came out I told myself I wasn’t going to buy it. Months later it’s sitting in my makeup drawer and I admit, I am loving it. I really enjoy the Naked Basics palette and simply couldn’t resist trying out the Basics2. It’s a great palette for an everyday eye look and I love that all the shadows come in a single, convenient compact.

If you love this look then check out my Simple, Everyday Eye makeup using the first Naked Basics.
