Summer is around the corner and I’ve been rounding up some great heatless hairstyles! I am planning to give up hot tools when the weather really heats up and this would be a great hairstyle to try. I love braiding my hair on day two or three because the texture is easier to work with after a little dusting of dry shampoo. This style takes less than 10 minutes to do and you can even switch out the fishtail braid for a regular one if you’re in a super rush. If you recreate this look I’d love to know in comments below!

Topsy Tail Fishtail Braid Instruction:

  • Step 1 / Begin by parting the hair where you normally prefer. Section off a portion of hair from the part down to the left ear.
  • Step 2 / Divide off a similar sized section on the right side of the head.
  • Step 3 / Bring the two sections to the back of the head and tie them together with an elastic band.
  • Step 4 / Flip the ends up and around the elastic to create a topsy tail.
  • Step 5 / Gently pull on the edges of the twists to make them fuller.
  • Step 6 / Pick up two new sections of hair and tie them together underneath the first.
  • Step 7 / Flip the ends up and around the elastic band to create a second topsy tail. Split the tail into two halves and pull in opposite directions to tighten the twist underneath the previous one.
  • Step 8 / Take the remaining hair and braid it into a fishtail braid.
  • Step 9 / Braid the hair to the bottom in a fishtail braid and tie off the end with an elastic band.
  • Step 10 / Pull on the sides of the fishtail braid to make it wider and more full. Then set the style with a medium-hold hairspray.

I have such a thing for overalls. I feel like it’s such a strange thing but I am so drawn to them! Not sure if it is because it’s Spring but I am in love with this pair. I love that the bottom is unfinished. They’re a little longer on me than on the model and I think they’d still be cute with the bottom rolled up but let me know what you think! Are you an overalls lover like me?

Happy Monday! I’m still over here wishing the weekend was 3 days instead of 2, ha! I just started season 3 of Grace and Frankie on Netflix and totally love it. I didn’t think I would but I am so sucked in and love watching it every night after Cohen goes to bed.

I have such an obsession with cute white tops. The peplum detailing on this one makes it my new favorite and white is such a fresh color to wear once the weather starts to warm up. Can we talk about these wedges for a sec? I wasn’t quite sure if I liked them at first but now I want to wear them every single day. I am so excited for summer because they match everything and I know I’ll be wearing them all the time.

Now that summer is right around the corner I’ve been thinking of some new heatless hairstyles to feature. I recently wore my hair in this style and realized I didn’t have a tutorial for it. The one I do have that is slightly similar is a really elaborate hairstyle with a 4 strand waterfall braid and big elegant bun. I figured it’d be fun to show you a more “basic” everyday version of the style. I honestly feel like this hairstyle isn’t too exciting but hopefully you learned a few new techniques from it. Let me know what you think; I love to hear from you!

Four Strand Braid Low Bun Supplies:

Four Strand Braid Low Bun Instructions:

  • Step 1 / Start by creating a part on the right side.
  • Step 2 / Then pick up a small section on the heavy side of the part for the braid.
  • Step 3 / Divide this section into 4 pieces.
  • Step 4 / I’m going to number the strands 1-4 starting with the strand closest to the hairline as number one.
  • Step 5 / Take strand 4 and cross it under 3.
  • Step 6 / Then cross 3 over 2.
  • Step 7 / Cross 2 under 1.
  • Step 8 / Now take strand 3 and cross it over 2. Those are the steps so now just repeat them while adding in new hair to the outside strands.
  • Step 9 / So add in hair to strand four then cross it under 3.
  • Step 10 / Cross 3 over 2 and 2 under 1.

Instructions continued:

  • Step 11 / Add a new section into the new 2 strand, or add in hair to 1 before crossing it over 2.
  • Step 12 / Now continue the braid until it’s about an inch above the ear. Then braid the section to the ends without adding in new hair.
  • Step 13 / Criss-cross two bobby pins over the bottom so it doesn’t unravel.
  • Step 14 / Next divide  off a small section on the right side of the head to add in later.
  • Step 15 / Now combine the rest of the hair together in a low ponytail.
  • Step 16 / Wrap a hair band over the hair and on the last wrap only pull the ponytail half way through to create a loop.
  • Step 17 / Take small sections of hair from the loop, bring them up to the head, and pin them in place with bobby pins.
  • Step 18 / Then combine the ends left sticking out, wrap them towards the hair band and tuck them in to form the bottom part of the bun.
  • Step 19 / Next pick up the section on the right side that was left out. Twist it together, pull on the top a little bit to make it bigger and then lay it over the top of the bun. Wrap the ends around the side and pinning it in place with bobby pins.
  • Step 20 / Now take the braid and gently pull on the sides to make it really wide and a lot bigger.
  • Step 21 / Then lay it over the bun, wrapping it around the side and pin it in place with bobby pins.
  • Step 22 / Set the style with a medium-hold hairspray.

As many of you know, I’ve been struggling with dry skin and have been searching for the perfect solution to treat it for good. Recently I discovered the new Curel Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer and was so excited to use it and see how it would help my skin. Today I am so excited to share with you a quick update and what I learned.

It’s been a few weeks since I first started using this moisturizer and can happily say, with daily use, my dry skin is gone! To use it effectively, I made sure to always apply it to my wet skin right after a shower or bath before I toweled off. It glides on the skin so smooth. It’s a thick cream and feels so luxurious on the skin. I could tell right away that it was going to work wonders for my combatting my dry skin.
No more, would I look down at my legs or arms and see red, cracked, flaky skin. My skin is so different from when I was younger and finding the new Curel Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer has become the perfect solution for treating my uncooperative dry skin.

Living in Utah and Arizona where the air is so dry was a main factor in my dry skin. Not to mention stress, hot showers and harsh soaps my skin was in need of some serious tender, love, and care. If you are someone who suffers from dry skin then I’m sure you can relate to how uncomfortable it can be to have dry skin. The worst is when someone else would notice the dry skin around my elbows and knees or my dry, red knuckles. Now I make a daily, conscious effort to take better care of my skin. I am so happy that the solution only takes a few extra minutes every day!

In case you haven’t heard of the new, Curel Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer, it’s a new wet skin formula that lays the foundation for better moisturizer. After a bath or shower, since your skin cells expand, it provides an easy way for Curel Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer to soak in and penetrate into just showered skin before it’s dried off.

The skin’s natural moisture barrier is maintained by ceramides which are building blocks necessary for healthy skin. Skin that is dry and damaged have lost their ceramides so it’s important to put them back into the skin. Since Curel Hydra Therapy Wet Skin Moisturizer contains an advanced ceramide complex it can help penetrate the skin to the source of the dryness. This helps replenish the skin’s ceramide levels and repair the moisture barrier. With new ceramides and Hydra Therapy dry skin can be targeted in a unique and effective way.

Maintaining my skin, ensuring it stays healthy and hydrated will always be a high priority for me. I could tell after the first use that my skin felt softer and more smooth. I can honestly say that I no longer feel embarrassed or self-conscious of my skin and love how hydrated it feels all day long. I’ve made Curel Hydra Therapy a daily part of my skincare routine and love how healthy my skin looks again!

If you’ve tried a ton of different moisturizers and haven’t found one that you love then I highly recommend trying Curel Hydra Therapy. It’s helped me heal my dry skin and I know it’ll work for you too!
