The winter months are so dry that I always find myself packing on extra moisturizer in an attempt to counter act it. So I’ve come up with a few of my own tips to help still look fresh throughout this dry and dreary season.
Flat-Top Kabuki brush by Sigma. For years I’ve used my finger to apply liquid foundation but once I discovered this brush I was amazed how easily it applies my foundation and leaves a smooth dewey finish.
BareMinerals Veil. I’ve heard over and over that powder products are best to use during the hot summer months so as a substitute I’ve been using this mineral veil. It’s the softest powder I’ve ever seen. In fact it just spills out if you’re not careful. It just gives that extra punch of shimmer all over your face that you need are dreary days.
BareMinerals Bronzer. Winter time is synonymous with pale skin. There’s no beach time or even pool time and the only time we’re outside is to shovel the driveway. Usually. So bronzer is definitely my go-to during winter.
Lash curler. I always had friends that used these but I didn’t get on the bandwagon until about a year or so ago. I just didn’t see the need. Let me tell you, it works. It’s amazing. I didn’t realize what I was missing out on. Now I am a slave to it and have to curl my lashes every day before completing my look.
Buxom Lash. My eyelashes are blonde. I consider it one of my greater downfalls. So I usually stick with black mascara. I love waterproof for the summer but in the winter when my skin is already dried out and with so many face washes it only gets more roughed up so I stick with regular mascara that comes off easier. Ps. this is so far my favorite mascara ever.
BareMinerals EyeShadow – The Truth. This is my go-to palette. I have to wake up every week day with the windows still dark and the sun still hiding so the last thing I want to do is wake up any earlier than necessary. When I’m hurrying out the door and need to add some color to my lids I reach for this palette because it matches every blush, lipstick, and outfit.
Sephora Rouge – The Red. With winter comes black. I love to wear black. Love love love it. It’s so chic, classy, and simple. When in a bind, it’s my default. Since becoming a recent convert to red lipstick I have found that nothing compliments a plain black turtleneck better than a nice red lip. The perfect punch to the routine look.
